There’s Nothing Like a Cat
A black cat steps into a pale circle of light, moving with the calm assurance of a creature that never needs to explain itself. Other feline silhouettes gradually appear around it: waiting, stretching, watching and suddenly giving chase. The scene moves from mystery into play and then settles into warm, self-possessed stillness — an orchestral portrait of beauty, intelligence, independence and the quiet trust that belongs only to cats.

A world that belongs to cats
The deep blue space seems empty at first. Then a black cat steps into the pale circle of light. It does not hurry and does not ask to be noticed. One paw follows another with perfect assurance, while its amber eyes remain fixed on something beyond the visible scene. The cat moves as though every line around it had been drawn for its path alone.
Gradually, other figures reveal themselves. A silver cat sits at a distance. A ginger shadow slips behind a curve. Grey and white silhouettes gather where the light meets the dark. No one calls them, and no one leads them. They simply appear, each with its own rhythm: one stretches, another waits, two begin a sudden chase, and a third watches from above with the composure of someone who already knows how the game will end.
For a moment the entire space comes alive. Soft steps become quick crossings; bodies leap through the flowing lines and stop without warning. The movement is lively but never clumsy. Even play retains a strange dignity. Then, as suddenly as it began, the pursuit dissolves. The cats settle into the warmest part of the light. The restless curves soften, and a low contented vibration seems to pass from one figure to another.
The black cat turns its head and looks directly outward. In its eyes there is neither a request nor an explanation — only a quiet, unfathomable presence, as if another world had opened and closed in the same instant. Soon the silhouettes begin to disappear. The last cat walks beyond the edge of the light, leaving the dark space almost empty again. Only the amber gaze and a few fine lines remain, and the final thought arrives without argument: there is nothing like a cat.
Grace, play and quiet certainty
The composition is shaped by the contrast between watchfulness and movement. It begins with restraint: a clear melodic thought advances in small, poised gestures, while the pulse gathers lightly and gives the impression of silent steps and alert attention.
As the music opens, quick turns and short responses suggest several independent characters entering the same space. The central movement becomes more playful, passing through pursuit, escape and sudden stillness. Each pause feels as important as the motion around it — like a cat freezing in the middle of a game before choosing a new direction.
Later, the energy softens into a warmer and more intimate episode. Brief phrases and quiet wordless sounds become part of the orchestral colour rather than taking over the composition. The main idea returns with greater breadth but without an oversized climax, and the ending grows sparse again, preserving elegance, mystery and a final sense of feline self-possession.
